Sponsor:Señora Gibbs President: Elizabeth Dieter Members: Kateyln Brewer, Madisen Burrows, Ashley Caillier, Chrisitna Eckart, Emily Fuhrmann, Chelsea Hermes, Taylor Horn, Lauren Krahl, Jen Rauschuber, Haley Skeans, Clayton Starnes, Sarah Stoffels Purpose of the Spanish Club:It shall be the purposes of the Lindsay High School Spanish Club to (1) promote the use of the Spanish language among native and second language learning speakers, (2) promote knowledge of the Hispanic culture, and (3) provide the opportunity to increase campus and community knowledge of the Spanish speaking world. We strive to enrich our student body, faculty, and staff with the Spanish language as well as the culture of the countries in which Spanish is the principal language, through a variety of social activities, both formal and informal. This year, the Spanish Club consists of the entire Spanish III class. They are planning many fun activities, including a Spanish trip. They plan to travel to Mexico and experience the Mexican culture firsthand. With many adventurous activities planned, the trip is sure to be a success. On October 12, 2007, Spanish Club hosted a spaghetti dinner with salad, bread, and a variety of desserts from which to choose. Finally, Spanish Club celebrated El Dia de los Muertos on November 1-2 of this year by creating altars and commemorating the life of Elvis as shown in the picture above.
